Both types of Barracuda, The Pickhandle and Great, are common in our waters.

Although they provide a tough fight, which can feature some spectacular leaps, they are not a favourite of the sport fisherman. They not only destroy lures, and ravage live and dead baits, with their over-size canine like teeth, but the grey and bony flesh of the ‘cuda is known to be associated with ciguatera poisoning.
