The Cod family is extensive, with many species inhabiting the Northern region of Australia. Typically they are a by-catch when targeting other species of fish.
They range from the estuaries to the local reefs and deep holes of inshore waters, and may be caught on baits, lures, and fly.
Many of the smaller specimens of cod are excellent table fare, while the larger fish can provide a fisherman with an exhaustive and prolonged fight, all the way to the boat.
